This position is responsible for Managing, Planning, directing, or coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with safety, cost, quality, productivity, and quantity specifications.
- Direct and coordinate production and processing of production team.
- Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
- Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
- Initiate and coordinate KAIZEN and cost control programs.
- Prepare and maintain production reports and Production Team records as required.
- Set and monitor product standards and take timely and appropriate action when corrective actions are needed.
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
- Participates in ISO 14001 Annual Audit Activities
- Ensures that Facility is in Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Environmental Requirements
- Other Job Duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Manage and lead both the Production and Project Planning Group, including training, development, performance reviews, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity.
- Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each team member is aware.
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure safety and the wellbeing of staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Must have proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Must have knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Must be willing to cross-train and make continuous improvements.
- Must be willing to take the initiative on new projects.
- Must be able to work company's required overtime.
- Must comply with FIA's Attendance Policy.
- Attention to Detail, Office Equipment Usage, Computer Usage, Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Multi-Tasking, Problem Solving, Team Participation, Motivation to Learn New Skills.
- Work Environment: Work is typically performed in both an office and production environment
- Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area.
- Must be able to use software includes the use of Windows Operating System, MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access database, etc.), and Internet
- Noise Levels: Moderate Noise
- Lifting up to 10 pounds - must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Physical Sight - Able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen.
- Verbal & Written Communications - Able to efficiently present complex matters to audience with little technical knowledge and to executive management.
- Telephone Communications - Able to communicate verbally using a telephone.
- Multitasking - Able to manage multiple work projects simultaneously.
- Occasionally travels by automotive and or plane
